about

A storm is on the horizon. Noneoftheabove might be best known among fans of the harder Techno sounds, but they are much more than just a duo that churns out bangers. They caught our ears with 'I Think a Demon Might Be Following Me' on Ketra Records, a brutally distorted Techno track with plenty of tempo changes and a buildup that was very cleverly constructed. And of course, their EP on Rebekah's 'Elements' is a must have in every Techno DJ's record box.

On their first EP for Coincidence they show their diversity yet again: 'Basic Methics of Cinematic' is a brilliant track with plenty of atmosphere, starting with Breakbeats but eventually erupting into the type of intelligent Techno that you would've found on F Communications or Apollo back in the days of The Source and Mike Dredd.

'She's Not Gonna Be Like That' picks up the pace yet remains diceivingly laidback for well over four minutes. But as the track progresses, the tone changes to a fantastic haunting mood.

The third track 'Intimidate' is the more straightforward one of the pack: we can surely see that one as starter for a massive DJ set if you are not planning to take any prisoners. Crafty, beautiful arranged and ultra effective. Probably the track on Coincidence with the most perfect distortion on drums ever ;)

To our surprise, the final track the boys sent us was 'Idealize'. Again, one that could have been on Apollo. Ambient, but the kind that takes you on a journey. We seriously advice you to take your best headphones, sit back in a comfy seat, and let Noneoftheabove take you on a 14 minute journey through time and space.

We can only hope you will enjoy this EP as much as we do.
