To find the right tracks we have searched far and beyond the borders of our own little village near Bruges, Belgium. Russia, Brasil, Colombia, Japan, USA, Australia... no country far enough to hide from us. But it's always an extra treat when you discover a new artist right at your door step. Not that his mom dropped looper on our porch or anything, but he does live very close by, in Ypres, a city with litterally nothing to do except visit World War 1 graves and the buildings of what was once the biggest startup ever - and a massive scheme too. Anyway, enough history, let's get down to business.
Opening track 'Amnesiac' is simply pure, uncut dance floor mayhem: think Truncate-ish percussion heavy Techno with such effective groovy simplicity that any DJ in any style will be able to use this. In the right hands this stuff is gold. Mixes well with the new track by Amelie Lens on Lyase btw. Oops, spoiler alert.
'Somatic Mutation Phase Two' is, besides totally unpronounceable, a brutal, mean minimal Techno track. The stabs are simply relentless, all guns ablaze. Should work for any peak time set.
On to the psycho stuff, aptly called 'Ward Eighteen'. This is a rather eerie track with spooky sounds echoing through the corridors. Somehow I don't see much happy images in my mind, mostly dark, unsettling vibes. A visit to Shutter Island if you will.
Last track 'Zipped' is again extremely stripped down, a track cut to the bare necessities really. Screaming and howling synth stabs and a bass that doesn't boom, but barks from somewhere in the background.
We hope you like this man, because for the first time in history we have signed someone for three releases at once, so you can expect a truckload more tracks from this new resident.
All hail to the King! And to Misjah at 24Mastering for the mastering work.
