After a long long time in Eastern Europe we figured it was time to head south and soak up some Italian sun. And our mate Claudio aka Codeless was happy to oblige. He created three synthy Techno tunes and we added a touch of dutch Techno to it with a remix by TWR72. Opening track ø is not only total misery to find on your keyboard, but it is a pretty not-so-standard track. Very synthetic, almost with very basic stabs, it vaguely reminds you of Mr. Finger's classic "I'm Strong" which is not bad to be quoted as a reference I guess. Implotion on the other hand starts off very dry and restrained, and gradually builds up using some surprisingly oldskool stabs and sounds like marimbas and some lasergun shots. The title song however can be best described as "acid with a deeptrance feel". It made us think back of the days when Techno was called intelligent and MDMA was still pure and freely available. Yes, we're that old. For the nostalgic punters you'll definitely will hear some elements that sound slightly like Moroder but with a new feel to it. The icing on the cake is the remix by TWR72 for sure. This dutch duo, who released on Turbo Recordings and did remixes for some of our heroes including the one and only Truncate, made a surprisingly calm version for those who know their usual output. this could easily be on Dystopian if I had a red beard. Great build up, awesome atmosphere, perfect sounding production. One of the highlights on the label. Of course, everything mastered by the master of mayhem, Dimitri Andreas.
