about

Recid is the moniker of Ukrain based producer Andrey Dyachenko. When we first got the tracks we just were thrilled to hear music from the Eastern European side. But besides being a bit exotic for us little belgians, his music of course is what stands out. Pounding, threatening sounds from the country that we only know from the unpleasant stories about radioactive wastelands and happier times at the Kazantip shores.

First track, One Of Them, is nothing short of an absolute techno monster. Brutal, composed aggression which today we seem to refer to as the Berghain sound. But this one is fused with the relentless eastern force that shapes the country where Recid is from.

Uranium Kovalenka reminded us a bit of the music our brothers from Quake had released a while ago: unsettling, disturbing and slightly distorted techno that takes a few times to listen to, but is oh so rewarding when you allow your mind to wander into the mind set this track demands.

For label boss Psytox however, the third track titled "Na Rayone" was what really sealed the deal. Think oldskool (or as some would say: REAL) electro, with strings that are vaguely referring to the old days of Underground Resistance, and you will hear that this just is one of those tracks ideal for the early hours or to end the last set of the night with a touch of beauty.

I hope you like it as much as I do.
